1958 Walt Disney’s Disneyland Birthday Party Dell Giant Comic
An early investor in Disneyland was Western Printing and Lithography Company, which through its Dell Publishing division produced comic books including this 1958 “Disneyland Birthday Party” edition. Western once sold comics like this through the Storybook Shop found in the Emporium on Disneyland’s Main Street USA. This issue includes appearances by Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck, his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and Uncle Scrooge. Featuring artwork by esteemed artist Carl Barks, creator of Scrooge McDuck.

1979 Mego Walt Disney Productions The Black Hole V.I.N.Cent Figure
$225A Christmas 1979 science fiction film from Walt Disney Productions, The Black Hole featured this robotic member in a prominent role. Vincent (whose full name is V.I.N.Cent (“Vital Information Necessary, Centralized”) L.F. 396) used artificial intelligence, anti-gravity propulsion, and built-in laser guns to advise and defend a crew of brave human explorers aboard the U.S. S. Palomino: Captain Dan Holland (Robert Forster), Lieutenant Charlie Pizer (Joseph Bottoms), Dr. Alex Durant (Anthony Perkins), Dr. Kate McCrae (Yvette Mimieux) along with journalist Harry Booth (Ernest Borgnine). Their epic encounter with the U.S.S. Cygnus and its commander Dr. Hans Reinhardt (Maximillian Schell) at the far edges of space was not a box office success, but the toys inspired by the film are rare and highly prized.
Completely poseable, V.I.N.Cent is in excellent unrestored condition. The figure is unpackaged but otherwise near new with only slight scratches on the rare genuine supporting base stand. All laser guns, retractable arms, and retractable legs are fully intact. The head raises and lowers. Ready for your own adventures into the future.

1965 Walt Disney’s Vacation in Disneyland Gold Key Comic
$40Celebrating Disneyland’s Tenth Anniversary, this 1965 issue republished the 1958 first edition of the comic with additional material for the Park’s Tencennial. Along with comics featuring Mickey Mouse, Morty and Ferdie, Donald and Daisy Duck, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, Goofy, and the rarely-seen Gus Goose, this delightful Disneyland Special Issue includes period photographs of the Magic Kingdom. The front cover displays the Disney gang in an early Von Roll Skyway cabin. On the inside back cover, there are announcements for the planned “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln“ attraction and the inauguration of Julie Reihm, Disneyland’s first Ambassador to the World.
